Moline City Leaders To Discuss John Deere Road Project

Updated:

City leaders in Moline, Ill., will meet Tuesday night, May 14, 2013, to look at the Department of Transportation's plan to widen John Deere Road.

The $47million project will widen John Deere from four lanes to six between I-74 and 70th Street.

Crews will also start work on an overpass at the intersection of John Deere and 38th Street, the entrance by Lowe's and the movie theater.

Since a section of the project will be added to the city's street system after completion, the DOT requires the city formally approve the plans.

City leaders will look at the issue during Tuesday night's committee of the whole meeting.

The entire widening project is scheduled to be completed in late 2016.
