Numbers Say Iowa Unemployment Down

The unemployment numbers were just released in Iowa and conditions seem to be looking up.

The new numbers show the rate dropped to 4.7 percent in April, down from 4.9 percent in March, and well below the level of 5.2.percent from a year ago.

Education and health services employment was up in April, followed by hiring in financial services, transportation and retail.

In Illinois, the unemployment rate for April dropped as well to 9.3 percent from 9.5 percent in March.
