Sixty five employees in the manufacturing section of John Deere Dubuque Works will be laid off indefinitely.

This will be effective June 24, 2013.

Despite strong earning reports, the company says they have not seen the sales and demand they predicted in the construction and forestry division.

The plant in Dubuque manufactures the equipment for that division.

A rep for John Deere says the workers being laid off would be the first to be called back if the jobs were to open back up again.
