Motorcycle Accident Claims Lives Of Geneseo Father & Son

A father and son are dead after a motorcycle crash in Colona, Ill., on Friday afternoon, June 14, 2013.

Officers say it happened around 2:00 p.m., at the intersection of US 6 and Illinois 84, when a Buick turned in front of 39-year old Scott Teerlink's bike.

When the two collided, the Geneseo man and his son, 10-year-old Luke, were thrown from the bike.

Teerlink was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County Coroner.

Luke was air lifted to a Peoria hospital where he died Saturday. Police say Luke was wearing a helmet.

According to the funeral home obituary, Luke gave the gift of life by being an organ donor.

The driver of the car has been cited for an improper turn but police say other charges are pending the investigation.
