Rebuild or tear down? Those are two of the choices the Credit Island Lodge Task Force is looking at. Nearly 20 people gathered Thursday night for a second meeting to talk about the future of the building devastated by fire, then hit hard by heavy rains.

This night, all agree there should be a building on the island, but are still debating what is should look like and be used for, whether it be wedding receptions or family picnics.

At the same time, members tell us they are confident they'll have a recommendation for Davenport council members by August. Roman Scholtz says, "The question is out of the prioritizing. All the functions and items brought to the fore here, I think we just need to decide what are the most significant important items."

Members also decided to ask aldermen to pass an ordinance, designating all insurance money from the fire would go solely to Credit Island, not any other city fund.
