East Moline: Short Hills Golf Course Damaged By Storms

Updated:

The storms that rolled through the Quad City area on Monday, June 24, 2013, caused many problems around the area and knocked down a lot of trees in East Moline, Ill.

The Short Hills Golf Superintendent, Tim Garavert, expects it to take a couple of weeks to clean up the damage on the course.

He says between 175 to 200 trees on the course are damaged and many are destroyed.
Gavavert says this comes at the worst time of year.

"It's going to be a totally different course. Something like this you never plan for. Right in the middle of summer, in our peak time anyway."

He's already called another superintendent to come help with the clean up.

They hope to get at least nine holes ready for play as soon as possible.
