Rock Island Storm Debris Collection

This is a release from the city of Rock Island concerning debris collection from yesterday's storm:

The majority of yesterday's storm damage was isolated to specific neighborhoods in Rock Island. A free special collection of limbs and branches will start on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, for the areas hardest hit by the storm including the Shadybrook subdivision, 65th Avenue West, and the area of 28th Street east to the Moline border south of 31st Avenue.

Residents in the affected area should set out the debris by 7 a.m. at their regular garbage pickup location. Limbs do not need to be trimmed or bundled.

Residents that have storm debris outside of the above mentioned area should contact the Public Works Department at 732-2200 to schedule a pickup.

Debris collection will begin on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, but will likely be delayed due to flood preparations.
