A man playing softball in Davenport, Iowa, died after he collided with another player at the Dugout Sports Complex on Sunday, June 30, 2013.

A fellow player at the Dougout, Rich Larson, described the scene.

"I just seen a commotion.  I turned around and he was on the ground not moving and got down farther and there was a lady giving him CPR until the ambulance came."

While police can't confirm how the player died, witnesses say it happened after he collided with another player.

Fellow players say he had played softball a long time at the dugout and he will be missed.

Corey Schroeder, a fellow player, knew the victim.

"It's kind of a shock right now.  We're all in shock. I mean, he came out here and he played. One of the good guys out here and he'll be missed."

A makeshift memorial has been set up at the facility.

There's also a t-shirt which players have signed in his honor.

The Dugout is working on a benefit for the man's family.

The man's name is being withheld until family members are notified.
