Tipton Girl Among Those At Kids' State Dinner

Fighting obesity among children, 54 children from across the country were invited to the White House for the Kids' State Dinner including a 9-year-old girl from Tipton, Iowa.
Corrinne Vandergaast was one of the winners of the Healthy Recipe Challenge. Her contest dish, stone curry and brown rice.
The First Lady hosted the event as part of her let's move campaign and the President even stopped by for a "surprise visit."

"You guys are going to set a good example for everybody all across the country because you're eating healthy and you're out there active and you're playing sports and you're out on the playground and doing all of those things," said President Obama. "Not only are you going to have a better life, but you're helping to create a stronger and healthier America."

After the dinner, the children and their families went on a tour of the White House garden.
This is the second year the First Lady has hosted the event for some of the country's top junior chefs.
