Burlington: Man Injured From Fall At River Terminal


Around 7:40 on Thursday morning, July 11, 2013, the Burlington Police and Fire Departments were called to the Burlington River Terminal, located at 500 Cash St.

When crews arrived, they found an employee of A & B Welding & Manufacturing Company from Thompson IA, who had fallen from a ladder.

According to Burlington Fire Marshall, Mark Crooks, the man was working from the ladder to construct a large steel tank.

Crooks says the man fell between 32- 40 feet and landed inside the steel tank.  

Medical crews from the Burlington Fire Department Ambulance packaged the patient and moved him to a MedForce Helicopter for transport to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

The name and condition of the victim is not know at this time.
