Crundwell's Lawyer Appeals Sentence

Updated:

A lawyer for Dixon, Illinois' former Comptroller, Rita Crundwell, is appealing her 20 year sentence.

Crundwell was convicted of federal wire fraud in February after pleading guilty to stealing about $53 million from the city.

Her attorney is claiming the judge did not take into consideration that Crundwell cooperated with investigators.

Crundwell is serving time at a prison in Minnesota.
