An area little league team is swinging bats for a change to ultimately get to the Little League World Series.

The Davenport East All-Stars have advanced to state representing our region.

"I think our team is really pumped for state," said 12-year-old Adam Quested. "We just can't wait to go up and travel as a team and play a bunch of games and try and win."

The boys who have only been playing together for a couple of weeks have put in a lot of time with the hopes of making their last year in little league one they will always remember.

"We have a lot of talent," said Anthony Valainis. "When we score a lot of runs, we get pumped up. It's just a lot of fun to be on this team."

The kids now have to do some work to pay their way to state.
