A major fire broke out in downtown Prophetstown, Ill., around 2:00 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2013, according to the mayor.

Officials say there are 25 crews that have responded to the scene, including crews from Prophetstown, Lyndon, Tampico, Erie, Rock Falls, Sterling, Fulton, Hooppole, Atkinson, Geneseo, Savanna, Coleta, Thomson, Clinton and Camanche.

The Rock Falls fire chief told KWQC there were no injures. He says everyone was out before fire crews arrived.

According to the chief, seven buildings were engulfed, six a total loss and two more receiving smoke damage.

As of early Monday morning, there was a concern that firefighters are running out of water.

The mayor has issued a boil order for residents due to the low levels of water because of the fire.

Local farmers and companies have been coming to the scene on their own with water for the fire crews to assist in battling the fires.
