Illinois: New Law For Drunk Driving While Boating

Updated:

A new law in Illinois means that if you drive drunk while boating, you can lose your license to drive a car.

Governor Pat Quinn signed the legislation Sunday, July 22 2013.

The law takes effect January 1, 2013, and requires boaters involved in serious injury or fatal accidents to submit to blood alcohol and drug testing.

Testing positive for intoxication or refusing to take the tests would now result in losing your driver's license.
