Prophetstown: 2nd Boy Fire Suspect To Be Released Into Family Custody

The 16-year-old accused of setting the fire that destroyed downtown Prophetstown, Ill., will soon be released to his grandfather.

The teenager will be placed on electronic monitoring and his grandfather must provide 24 hour supervision.

His 12-year-old brother is also under house arrest after being released to relatives last week.

The boys are accused of starting the fire in a recycling bin behind Cindy Jean's Restaurant.

In all, eight buildings were destroyed.

The boys face felony residential arson charges and felony criminal damage to property.

Another hearing is set for Tuesday, July 30, 2013.
