Joe Barnard's artistic ability continues to reach new heights. The forty seven year old man from Muscatine is very talented. He is an engraver and an artist.

Joe has been an engraver for about twenty years. Using granite, he is inspired to create patriotic scenes, eagles, and several pieces with spiritual overtones. Barnard says his talent  is a gift from God.

Joe also does shell carvings. Several depict scenes from Muscatine. Others are butterflies. He is always striving to create that perfect piece.

He is also a gifted painter. "Dusk on the River" is the title of one of his pastels. It features a river scene along the Mississippi in Muscatine. Several of his other paintings feature the innocence of children.

Barnard says he loves his work, and without a doubt knows being an artist  is what he is called to do.
