What's New At Davenport's Street Fest

Updated:

Street Fest is all about having such a great time experiencing downtown Davenport, that you'll want to come back next year.

One of the main reasons organizers believe people are coming back for the 42nd year, is the support from local businesses.

Dozens of stores, restaurants, bars and breweries are getting into street fest.

Their tents will line the streets downtown, selling their apparel, goods, and food. And as organizers say, it puts Davenport on display.

Streets will be closed between Ripley Street and Brady Street, but you'll also see the fun extend east to Pershing, where the Barrel House and Great River Brewery have planned events for the weekend.

But before you head out  thinking street fest will be exactly the same as last year, there are a few new things that you don't want to miss says Jason Gilliland, Director of Events.

"This year we are also going to be bringing in a mechanical bull, so people can try their hand at that, see if they can stay on. For the second year in a row we're going to do our street fest water fights."

That's where local fire departments from across the QCA and some even coming in from 3 different states, battle with fire hoses in downtown Davenport.

That will happen on Saturday at noon.

Street Fest kicks off Friday, July 26, 2013, at 10:00 a.m.
