Here's a runner that's more of a "marathon man" than a sprinter, the legendary Bill Rodgers.

The former BIX 7 champion was signing copies of his new book "Marathon Man" today at the Davenport Rivercenter.

He says the book follows the story of him, his brother and their good friend starting off running as kids and how sticking together with someone can help you conquer tough runs.

Rodgers is back in town for the BIX this weekend and says he's lucky to have come to run it so many years ago.

"There's a lot of power in this race," said Rodgers. "There's 40,000 road races in America, 40,000.  To me this is top 10 in America. I call it an American classic, the American classics you know, the ones with the real power, the real heart, the feeling what it stands for what its all about."

US Olympic medalist Meb Keflezighi was also signing books this afternoon, his new read is "Run to Overcome".

Both Bill and Meb joined another BIX champ, Joan Benoit Samuelson yesterday to share their stores with kids in Davenport.
