7 Hurt In Rollover Accident In Muscatine Co.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating an accident that sent seven people to the hospital, including five children.

It happened Sunday morning, July 28, 2013, on Davis Avenue near 155th street in Muscatine County. According to the state patrol, 46-year-old Mario Becerra of West Liberty lost control of the Jeep Grand Cherokee when the vehicle went over the wash boards on the road surface.

The Jeep slid into the ditch and rolled over onto its top. There were six passengers: 25-year-old Juan Carlos, 12-year old Cindy Becerra, nine-year-old Alejandro Becerra, seven-year-old Eduando Becerra, four-year-old Analia Becerra and two-year-old Jimena Ieyba. The Eduando and Alejandro were not wearing seat belts and were both ejected from the vehicle. Everyone was taken to University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Troopers say they are still investigating and citations are pending.
