Man Accused Of Taking Nude Photos Of Minors In Dubuque

Dubuque police have arrested a convicted sex offender accused of taking nude photos of underage girls. The investigation started earlier this month when police got a tip that 47-year-old Paul Trenary of Hazel Green, WI was taking photos and sharing nude images with the girls and that some of that activity occurred in Dubuque.

Investigators then identified and interviewed several female minors who confirmed they participated in photography sessions with Trenary over the past several months. The girls told police that Trenary made contact through facebook pages, including one called Trenary Photography, LLC. He allegedly made promises to the girls about modeling careers and even bought them clothing, gift cards and cell phones. Police say he would ask the girls send nude images of themselves to him via cell phone and ask them to participate in nude photo sessions.

Authorities were able to gather evidence that corroborated what the girls reported. Trenary was arrested on July 29 on charges of sexual exploitation of minors.

Anyone with additional information about Trenary can contact Dubuque Police Corporal Brendan Welsh at 563-589-4430 or Captain Scott Engleman at 563-589-4467.
