The City of Rock Island is preparing a city-wide comprehensive plan-a long-range plan that serves as the City's official guide for future community growth, development, and policy direction over a 20-year time frame.

Once adopted, the plan will function as a blueprint for City staff and local decision makers to help them achieve long-term community objectives.

"Receiving community feedback is extremely valuable to have during the early stages of a planning process. We encourage residents to take advantage of this opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions about the present and future state of our City." - Mayor Dennis Pauley

The City is seeking citizen input in the planning process. During the month of August, Rock Island residents are encouraged to complete an online community survey.

You can access the survey via the City's website at www.rigov.org.

If you are interested in completing the survey, but don't have access to computer, please visit any of the three Rock Island Public Library branches or the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center to access a computer.

More information on upcoming opportunities where community members can give input into the planning process will be listed on the City's website and Facebook page.
