Governor Quinn Signs Road Safety Law

Updated:

Governor Pat Quinn has signed three road safety laws.

One of the laws allows the Secretary of State's office to reject driver's permits or licenses for drivers 18 years and younger, if they have pending citations.

The law was prompted by a 15-year-old who was seriously injured when hit by a teen driver. That driver received a license days later.

The law takes effect Jan 1.
