The Bettendorf Police Department has received approximately seven reports of residential burglaries around the city in the past two weeks. Two residential burglaries were just reported on Plymouth Drive on the morning of Aug. 13, 2013. There were also burglaries on Old Freeport Place, St. Andrews Circle, Barcelona Street, Greenbrier Drive, and Prairie Vista Circle.

According to the city, the suspects are entering homes through unlocked doors or cutting screens and crawling through open windows at night. Residents have been home sleeping when these break-ins occurred.

Bettendorf officials ask homeowners to lock their doors and windows.
