Rock Falls Man Arrested For Sexually Abusing Children

The Sterling Police Department made an arrest on Thursday, August 15, 2013, on charges of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

On March 29, 2013, Sterling Police were notified by a concerned parent that their child may be involved in an ongoing sexual relationship with 20-year-old Daniel J. Hale of Rock Falls, Ill.

The parent also had information that Hale was possibly involved in sexual relationships with other minors.  

After a lengthy investigation, a warrant was obtained on August 14th, 2013, for Hale's arrest for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, a class X felony and 14 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, a class 2 felony.

On Thursday, August 15, 2013, the Sterling Police Department located Hale at his residence and he was placed under arrest.

Hale's bond was set at $250,000. Unable to post, he was taken to the Whiteside County Jail.

Police say one victim was between 13-16 years of age, and the second victim was less than 13 years of age.  

The incidents occurred in the Sterling / Rock Falls area.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing and more charges may be pending.
