Emergency crews responded to a semi-truck rollover on westbound I-80, just west of Brady Street.
According to reports, the accident happened just before 7:00 a.m., on Friday, August 23, 2013.
An initial report from the Iowa State Patrol says the accident occurred when the truck carrying rolls of steel failed to properly navigate the on-ramp onto I-80 west from US 61.
They say the truck tangled with two other vehicles and rolled over.
Authorities say the weight of the truck and speed seem to be the cause after an initial investigation.
They do not know if fog played a part in the accident.
Only minor injuries have been reported.
Officials are moving the semi into the median in order to get both lanes of I-80 open. They plan to remove the truck later in the day.
Eye witnesses say west bound I-80 traffic is moving slowly, but is backed up to at least the Jersey Ridge Road overpass.
