Galva Man Killed In Head-On Crash

Update: The Henry County Sheriff's Office has announced more details on the fatal accident Monday near Galva, Ill.

Officials say 21-year-old Jacob Grabbe of Galva was eastbound in a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he drifted into the westbound lane and into the path of semi.

Grabbe was pronounced dead at the scene by the Henry County Coroner's Office.

The driver of the semi was taken to Kewanee hospital with unreported injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.

Original: The Henry County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened around 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013.

Officials say the accident happened on route 34 near Galva,Ill., when a semi heading west and a car heading east collided head-on.

According to officials, a 21-year-old Galva man driving the car was killed.

His name hasn't been released yet.

There is no word on the condition or identity of the other driver.

The accident remains under investigation.
