More Charges Against Former Davenport H.S. Teacher

Update: Davenport police have filed more charges against a former Davenport North High School teacher and basketball coach. The new charges involve a different victim. Daniel Schneiderman now faces one count of sexual exploitation by a school employee, first degree harassment and two counts of telephone dissemination of obscene material to a minor.

According to court records, the new charges pertain to sending sexually explicit photos and text messages to the new victim, as well as removing the victim from classes, rubbing the victim's thighs and kissing the victim's neck during school hours. These charges are in addition to allegations of sexually abusing a student in August. Schneiderman no longer works for the school district.

The head boys basketball coach of Davenport North High School has been arrested on charges of sexual abuse.

Daniel Gerald Schneiderman, 37, is charged with 3rd degree sex abuse, sexual exploitation by counselor and another undisclosed count. All three are felony charges.

He has been in custody for over an hour and is being held on $10,000 bond.
