Local Shelter Nurses Strays To Health

Updated:

Local animal shelters are often filled to capacity with homeless pets but one has a specific need right now. The Animal Aid Humane Society in Moline took in a few dogs in June that were in especially rough shape.

They got a call from a landlord saying someone needed to get rid of the dogs, which were sick and injured. They were very thin, one had a broken leg, but they've been nursed back to health and are ready for adoption.

"They're very happy, they've gained weight, you would never know," said Vickie Sanders "They're just all so friendly."

The dogs include a variety of Chihuahuas and miniature pinschers.
