Former Rock Island Custodian Sentenced For Child Pornography

Updated:

A former substitute janitor for the Rock Island-Milan School District has been sentenced for possessing child pornography.

23-year old Scott Sparkman received two years probation and must undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluation and treatment. Any violations of his probation and he faces 180 days in jail.

Back in January, police arrested Sparkman accusing him of downloading and viewing child pornography. Police say he watched the videos of a girl, under the age of 13, engaged in sex acts. Police say he watched the videos on his computer at home, not at a school.

By the time he was charged, he was no longer employed by the school district.

Sparkman will also have to register as a sex offender.
