UPDATE: Morgan Blakey was sentenced to 12 years, with two years supervised release.

He will have to serve a mandatory 85% of his sentence, which translates to 10 years and two months.

ORIGINAL: A 20-year-old will learn his fate on Monday morning, September 9, 2013.

Morgan Blakey was found guilty on June 13, 2013, in connection with the death of three of his friends.

Blakey was behind the wheel in November 2011, when he passed out, causing a fatal accident.

A judge in Henry County, Ill., found Blakey guilty of reckless homicide and aggravated driving under the influence.

The judge says there's enough evidence to prove he had been inhaling aerosols the afternoon of the crash, and that's what caused him to pass out.

Blakey faces up to 28 years in prison.
