Update: West Locust St. is back open to traffic in both directions.

Police are investigating a serious accident near five points in Davenport. It involved two cars, one which flipped over onto its top.

One lane of traffic was closed at the scene, which is on West Locust St., between Wilkes and Howell.

Eastbound traffic on Locust was being diverted down Pacific around onto 17th. Westbound traffic on Locust is open to one lane.

Police say around 2 p.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound on Locust St. was struck by a vehicle pulling out onto Locusts St. from Howell St. The car that was hit, overturned and slip on its top. Police say the driver of that vehicle had serious, but non life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The occupants of the other vehicle were not hurt.
