Geneseo Police Look For Suspected Intruder

Updated:

The Geneseo Police Department is looking for help catching a suspected intruder.

On Monday, September 9, 2013, police received a 9-1-1 call around 4:58 a.m. from a resident in the 900 block of South State Street, reporting an intruder.

The caller said they woke up to strange sounds and upon investigating, they said they encountered an unknown man inside the house taking things.

The caller then went to another part of the house to call 9-1-1.

Police arrived to find the man gone and things from inside the house, outside in the yard.

They also discovered an open window that appeared to be how he entered the house.

The victim described the suspect as a white male, 5-10 to 6 ft. tall, with a medium build, wearing a blue and yellow striped shirt and khaki shorts. The suspect did not wear glasses and had no visible facial hair.

Geneseo Police say a crime scene artist was called to assist with developing a composite sketch of the suspect, based on the victim's information.

Anyone with information is asked to call Henry County Crime Stoppers at 800-227-2324. All calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and if your tip leads to a felony arrest you could be eligible for a cash reward.
