The City of Rock Falls, Ill. is looking for help to stop a rash of vandalism happening to city parks.

Officials say over the past month, thousands of dollars of damage has been done to parks as well as city property.

On three occasions in September 2013, vandals damaged property at Centennial Park in the 500 block of 11th Street.

According to the Rock Falls Police Department, on 9/4, picnic tables, dumpsters and trash cans had been overturned.

The tennis courts and soccer field areas had been damaged. They say nets and PVC poles had been broken or burned.

On 9/11 a lion figurine water fountain was broken in half, support brackets to soccer nets had been broken and bleachers were overturned.

Then on 9/19, police say windows at the Little Red School House had been broken out.

Criminals then targeted the city street garage, located at 905 E 11th St.

They say all the windows and headlights of two city vehicles were broken out and wiring had been torn out of one vehicle in an attempt to start it.

On October 6 and 7, some lights were broken out and more picnic tables, dumpsters and trash cans were overturned at Sieglinger Park.

Police ask anyone with information to call CrimeStoppers, Rock Falls Police department (815 622 1141), or email them at tips@rockfalls61071.com.

Cash rewards may be paid out upon convictions of the offenders.
