Program Hopes To Get Iowa Walking

Updated:

A nice morning for Iowans to get out and walk to promote the state as the healthiest.

'"I think it's just a great stride in making Iowa healthier," said Lauren Melik, Assistant Program Manager for Life Fitness Center. "Exercise is key I think."

Bettendorf and Davenport participated. The walks are a part of an initiative by Iowa Governor Terry Branstad to get Iowans to pledge to walk one kilometer, or just over half a mile.

You can pledge to walk in a group, or by yourself, at www.iowa healthieststate.com.
