Meg Okura is a very gifted concert violinist who combines
classical and jazz to create a unique sound.
She is the leader of the Pan Asian Chamber Jazz Ensemble. Meg
and two other members of that ensemble performed for students at McKinley School
in Davenport on Tuesday.
Meg was born in Tokyo. She started playing violin and piano
when she was four years old.
She moved to New York City to study classical violin. After
graduation, she made the switch to jazz and has performed all over the world.
Okura is in the Quad Cities, participating in the Quad City
Arts Visiting Artist Series.

The ensemble will perform at a public concert on Saturday
evening at seven o'clock at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Bettendorf. The concert
