UPDATE: Theft Charge In Rock Island False Report

Darian Michael Davis Darian Michael Davis

Darian Davis, 22, was arrested at the home where he lived after police investigated a false report at his home.

What was earlier reported as a burglary is now being dubbed a false report by the Rock Island Police Department.

"It's false. It's fictitious. It didn't happen," said Jason Foy of the Rock Island PD. He said there was no home invasion, no stabbing, no shooting and police say a false report was claimed and they are investigating.

We will have more as the story develops.

Police in Rock Island are investigating a home invasion that happened Tuesday morning, October 22, 2013.

Police were called to a home around 7:40 a.m. and were told masked suspects broke in. It happened at a home in the 4400 block of 12th Street in Rock Island.

Police Sgt. Larry Hufford says four people were home at the time and one of them was hurt during the ordeal.

"One person inside the house was injured and the suspects are unknown. We do know there were multiple suspects and there is some missing property," said Hufford.

Police say they don't believe there is any reason for others to feel threatened; they believe the house was targeted.
