This is a feel good story about two little boys. Two caring kids from DeWitt who someday might follow in their dad's footsteps.

Six year old Lucas Johnston and his three year old brother Lane received money for their birthdays. Instead of spending that money, the two kids donated it to the DeWitt Fire Department.

Their father,  Andy, has been a volunteer firefighter in that city for ten years.

The brothers donated about one hundred dollars toward the purchase of a new, three thousand gallon tanker for the DeWitt Fire Department.

Lucas and Lane are frequent visitors to the fire station. They also have their own firefighting gear.

Andy Johnston is very proud of his sons.

DeWitt firefighter Garey Chrones says this is an indication of how much the Johnston Family cares about the community and what the fire service means to them.

Andy Johnston says who knows, perhaps Lucas and Lane will someday join him and become  volunteer firefighters in DeWitt.
