The father of an infant who suffered significant injuries from a beating has been arrested.

Terrance L. Jordan, 21 of Sterling, was arrested for aggravated battery of a child. Police were called to the 1800 block of Locust Street for a report of an infant found unresponsive and not breathing. The child suffered from intracranial bleeding and numerous bone fractures.

The child was airlifted to Rockford and was later stabilized.

After a lengthy investigation, a warrant was issued for Jordan, the child's father. That investigation revealed that the abuse occurred on more than one occasion.

Jordan was unable to post bond and was transported to the Whiteside County Jail.
