River Bandits Announce New General Manager

Updated:

The Quad Cities River Bandits named a new General Manager Thursday afternoon, and they didn't have to go far to find him.

The baseball team announced it is promoting current Assistant General Manager Andrew Chesser to the position.

Chesser has 10 years of experience in Minor League Baseball and has been the River Bandits' assistant general manager the past two seasons. During his tenure here, the team set the highest single day attendance record, won the Midwest League Championship, and Modern Woodmen Park was named the "Best Minor League Ballpark" in a nationwide vote.

Chesser joined the River Bandits in 2012 after eight seasons with the Lynchburg (Va.) Hillcats. He replaces Stephanie Brown, who filled in mid-season after Harold Craw stepped down.
