Quad Cities Region Earns Manufacturing Honor

The Quad Cities First and the Quad Cities region has earned a Top 5 Award of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing by Expansion Solutions Magazine. This award is among the others that the manufacturing sector of the Quad Cities has received.

The Top 5 award goes to economic development organizations that have shown exceptional progress in the area of development by successful recruiting, retaining and or assisting growing businesses.

"Advanced manufacturing is one of our targeted industries, and we've received some important recognition for our strength in this area recently," said Tara Barney, CEO, Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. "This award comes on the heels of news that the Quad Cities will receive a $162,500 grant from the Economic Development Administration to create a manufacturing innovation hub. We're excited about the momentum and progress around this growth."

Among those other rewards the region has earned a 16th national ranking for high-tech job growth, a top 50 military friendly community, a top 5 defense and aerospace community, a top 25 city for global trade and 15th best city for manufacturing job growth among midsized cities.
