Man Charged In Crash & Altercation With LeClaire Police

A man is being held in the Scott County Jail on 18 offenses following his arrest Friday, Oct. 26, 2013. According to the LeClaire police, 35-year old Robert Edward Strand ran a stop sign, failed to pull over during a traffic stop and instead, accelerated and hit a parked car. He then ran from the car and into a house where he knew the residents. Police followed, there was an altercation with police and Strand took off again.

After calling for back up from Scott County Sheriff's Department, Strand was found hiding in a nearby yard. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries he received in the crash.

Strand faces multiple charges including second offense drunk driving, assaulting a police officer and eluding. He was also charged on some outstanding warrants.
