Six Whiteside County sex offenders are unaccounted for. That was determined on Oct. 25, 2013 when several law enforcement agencies fanned across the county to locate registered sex offenders and verify where they are living and whether they are in compliance with the law. Sex offenders are required to register with their local police departments every ninety days or annually for ten years to a lifetime, depending on their convictions.

The county has 127 registered sex offenders. After the check, six offenders were not found or were out of compliance. They are David L. Boyd; Troy A. Eichstad; Eric W. Findley; Cleo D. Geiger; Bronson D. Hughes and William R. Pitzer. Their names will be forwarded to the States Attorney's Office to have charges for their arrest. Anyone with information on the offenders is asked to call their local police agency or Crime Stoppers @ 815 625-7867.
