Bus Accident In Clinton, Iowa-UPDATED

A two vehicle accident between a pickup truck and a school bus happened around 7:05 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013.

The accident occurred at 13th Avenue North & N. 3rd Street.

According Clinton Schools Superintendent, Deborah Olson, the bus was hit broadside by the truck and turned on its side.

Clinton Police say the bus was traveling northbound on 3rd Street when the pickup, traveling westbound, ran through the intersection.

The bus was occupied by the driver and four high school special education students.

Olson says all four of the students were transported to the hospital in Clinton with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the bus driver and the driver of the pickup refused treatment.

The driver of the pickup was sited for failure to obay a traffic control device.
