Updated:

Police in Clinton are searching for the driver who crashed into two parked police cars and took off. It happened Monday, Nov. 25 around 7:45 p.m. in the 500 block of 10th Ave. South.

Officers were taking an unrelated citizen's complaint when they noticed a pickup truck traveling at a high rate of speed. It crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and then struck both patrol cars. The driver fled the scene northbound on South Fifth St.

Police are looking for a dark colored, possibly red or maroon, full-sized pickup truck with a crew cab and full-sized tool box in the truck bed. Debris left at the crash scene indicated that the truck is a GM made between 1999 and 2002.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Clinton Police Department at 563-243-1458 or Clinton County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-8015.
