Police in Sterling, Ill. are investigating a string of home burglaries around the Thanksgiving holiday.

One incident occurred in the area of East Second Street and Sixth Avenue.

The victims reported small appliances and games were taken from the residence.

Police say the burglary happened during daytime hours of Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 28, 2013.

Police also responded to a residence in the 1400 block of 16th Avenue.

Investigators say this burglary took place on Thanksgiving or in the early morning of Friday, November 29, 2013.

Two guns and a small amount of cash was taken from the residence.

Both burglary incidents are still under investigation.
