A Quad City Variety Show to help a very worthwhile cause.

The Chordbusters Barbershop Chorus teamed up with Churches United and held a variety show at Heritage Church in Rock Island on December 6th.

A free will offering was taken to support the Churches United Food Pantries in the area.

Guitarist Don Mitchem was one of many performers. He warmed up for the event by performing a small concert at Heritage Court on the Good Samaritan Campus in Davenport on Thursday.

Mitchem is  musician, an ordained pastor, and also works at Good Samaritan.

Don says he really enjoys opportunities to sing and play, especially for a charitable cause.

Anne Wachal from Churches United says the need is great. The demand is increasing for the services which the food pantries and meal sites provide.

Churches United has more than 20 food pantries and also three meal sites in the area.
