Additional Flu Shot Clinic to be Held as Typical "Flu Season" is Around the Corner!

When: Tuesday, December 10, 2013

8 AM to 5 PM

Walk in clinic (No appointment necessary)

Where: Rock Island County Health Department

2112 25th Ave.

Rock Island, Illinois

What: Flu vaccine is available for ages 6 months and up.

Our shipment of vaccine from IDPH for the 6 month to 35 month age group that had been previously delayed has been received.

(Please call the Health Department at 309-794-7080 for further information on this children's vaccine.)

Why: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that everyone 6 months of age and older receive a flu shot. It requires about two weeks after immunization for immunity to begin building.

Flu activity most commonly peaks in January or February and can continue through May.

Cost: Illinois Medicaid and most Medicare Part B plans are accepted for payment. Blue Cross/Blue Shield insurance is accepted. For information on other methods of payment please call the Health Department at 309-794-7080
