UPDATE: Fatal Crash On Brady Street In Davenport

UPDATE 4:00 p.m. 12-10-13: Police have released the name of the passenger killed in the crash as 47-year-old John Frost of Davenport. Police say their investigation shows that the driver of the 2008 G6 Pontiac was going at a high rate of speed north on Brady St. The driver lost control, left the roadway, striking guy wires. That caused the vehicle to become airborne. It came to rest against the front of a building at 3707 Brady St. Police have located the driver of the vehicle and say criminal charges are pending. 

UPDATE: 8:30 a.m. update: Officials say investigators have finished processing the scene and Brady Street is open for through traffic. 

They say police have cleared the scene, but MidAmerican is still working to repair the power outage issue still affecting some customers.

Officials are still asking morning commuters to use caution when driving through the area.

ORIGINAL: Police are investigating a fatal car crash that happened on Brady Street in Davenport early Tuesday morning, December 10, 2013.

Police were alerted to the scene around 2:23 a.m., where they found a car that had crashed into AAA Rents, located at 3707, N. Brady St.

They say it looked like the car was traveling north on Brady when it left the road and hit the building.

Police say an occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brady Street from 35th Street to Kimberly Road is down to one lane for the morning commute.

Officials are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.

An investigation is on going.

The name of the victim has not been released.
