Christina Kitchen and Gina Schlicksup want to make a difference. They are doing just that.

The two women think every child deserves a book to read and a fleece blanket to call their own.

So, a few months ago, Christina and Gina started a project named From Cover To Cover. The goal is to provide at risk children with books and blankets.

With the help of volunteers, the women started a blanket drive and also collected children's books.

In September, From Cover To Cover distributed books and fleece blankets to the entire kindergarten class at Jefferson- Edison School in Davenport.

Recently, pre-school children at Saint John Vianney in Bettendorf donated books for less fortunate children at Ekstrand Elementary in DeWitt.

The goal is to promote literacy and instill in children a love for reading.

The two women would like kids to see how much fun reading can be, to have a book to treasure, and a blanket to snuggle up with.

They plan to continue the project. Two moms making a difference, with the help of several volunteers. Encouraging all children to enjoy reading books, From Cover To Cover!
