Three people were taken to the hospital with serious injuries after the SUV they were riding in was hit by a Mack truck. It happened Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 around 11 a.m. at the intersection of Rt. 41 and Rt. 95 in McDonough County near Bushnell, Ill.

According to Illinois State Police, three people were in a Honda Pilot on Rt. 95 when the driver stopped at the stop sign and then tried to cross Rt. 41. The truck, pulling an empty tanker trailer on highway 41, hit the passenger side of the Honda.

The driver of the Honda, 48-year-old Bridgett Mitchell of Calumet City, Ill. and passengers 83-year-old Cary Johnson of Chicago and a 7-year-old child, were air-lifted to a hospital in Peoria.
